Geographic objects support for PostgreSQL
PostGIS adds support for geographic objects to the PostgreSQL
object-relational database. In effect, PostGIS "spatially enables"
the PostgreSQL server, allowing it to be used as a backend spatial
database for geographic information systems (GIS), much like ESRI's
SDE or Oracle's Spatial extension. PostGIS follows the OpenGIS
"Simple Features Specification for SQL".

Graphic interface for the porg package manager/organizer
Grop is the graphic interface of porg. It uses and depends on the GTKMM
library. It's not meant to be a replacement of porg, since it lacks some
important features like logging package installations, but it allows for
manipulating the installed packages in a more comfortable way.

Universally Unique ID library
The libuuid library generates and parses 128-bit Universally Unique
IDs (UUIDs). A UUID is an identifier that is unique within the space
of all such identifiers across both space and time. It can be used for
multiple purposes, from tagging objects with an extremely short lifetime
to reliably identifying very persistent objects across a network.
