rsnapshot is an rsync-based filesystem snapshot utility. It can take incremental backups of local and remote filesystems for any number of machines. rsnapshot makes extensive use of hard links, so disk space is only used when absolutely necessary.

ATHENA is an interactive graphical utility for processing EXAFS data. It handles most of the common data handling chores of interest, including deglitching, aligning, merging, background removal, and Fourier transforms.

normalize-audio is a tool for adjusting the volume of WAV, MP3 and OGG files to a standard volume level. This is useful for things like creating mix CDs and MP3 databases, where different recording levels on different albums can cause the volume to vary greatly from song to song.

In setups with several NVIDIA driver versions installed (e.g. current and legacy) this metapackage registers an alternative to allow easy switching between the different versions.

ctags parses source code and produces a sort of index mapping the names of significant entities (e.g. functions, classes, variables) to the location where that entity is defined. This index is used by editors like vi and emacsen to allow moving to the definition of a user-specified entity.
